I need some adrenaline boost!

AS some of you might have noticed my poker speak has been sort of quite lately. In fact the very silent to near extinction.

The reason is that with summer here I just have not been playing that much and to be honest the "thrill" has been missing.

I still win and I moved up a little in stakes but to be honest - it's been a grind. I'm not sure how to get out of this little funk. Perhaps the fact that I have not cashed out money in over 3 years so it's like the incentive to play is missing.

I'm not even sure HOW to cash out. When Neteller went FUBR I played with what I had. The money bucket went down a LOT when I was learning Big Bet poker and I've double my $$ 5 times but it's still not enough to really cash out and change my life any.

I can honestly say that I have never lost "in the long run" at any level I have played at for "a long run". But that does not mean I want to jump up and start pounding tables that are over my head.

Maybe I need to go back and play tournaments again to get some sort of excitement.

Yea - that's what I'll do - some good old tournaments. Bu t the problem there is that the BIG money I have is at BoDog and I really HATE their SNGs because they take so freaking long and their turbo tournaments are SO turbo.

Party Poker had the best but sigh - I'm an American and not allowed in there. I'll have top check Full Tilt again.

So that is the plan - look into SNGs again to get the heart pounding a again.

HEY - why not play a $300 SNG - THAT would get the heart pounding LOL!

HELL - I don't even have any Football systems that are working anymore - I'm DOOM!!

One bad player - it's all you need

So it's been a while since I said anything. Reason I have not been playing THAT much but have basically moved up a limit and found the game play as bad.

The one thing I noticed a few sessions ago (the non-boring ones) is that really . . . . all it takes is one guy and you can come out a winner.

Case in point I was at a table and basically just minding my own business and watching as I would repeatable get no cards. I would "gamble" a few times just so people did not think I was dead but making sure I would not get sucked into a black hole. Hit or get out.

One guy on my left (not the best position) was just playing like an open book. After 3 or 4 orbits I could read what he was going to do like it his cards were face up.

He played a lot of hands and if he ANY hand he would bet. Bottom pair lower kicker he would come out betting small amounts. Middle pair larger amounts and top pair he would put in a pot size bet.

Hello? anybody else see this?? knock knock anybody home?

No - no one saw it but me and he kept winning.

The beauty is if he had, lets say bottom pair and someone raised him he would call.

He won a lot of pots but once my cards started to TOUCH the hand with a draw or whatever I was not going to fold to a bottom pair.

So I'm now playing and raising him when I have middle pair and calling his bets with good draws and I would take a good portion of his stack and he would reload with other players money when he would bet his horrible hand and they would fold.

I don't know if I played perfect poker but. I double my stack on a table that was tight weak except for one guy.

Many players (a friend of mine) complains that the tables when HE plays are tough. I say all you need is one bad player to make a good table.

Dipping my toes

I continue to crush 10NL Micro or would it be low limit poker. If you call 30BB/hour crushing I suppose.

Some of you might wonder how a guy that was playing $10/$20 Limit before The Bill killed Limit can be playing 0.10NL and it's easy. I had no bankroll. I started with $15 in Bodog and now am closing in on $300. My goal was to not move up until I had $500 or 25 buy-ins but . . . . . I'm getting bored.

Yet - my feeling is that you should move up when you believe you are good enough to move up. Heck - in Limit I started in .5/1 with $50 - skipped 1/2 completely and took off in $2/4.

I KNEW I was good enough. So in NL I know I'm good enough in 10NL. So lately I've been dipping my toes in 25NL at Full Tilt. Reason is I know Full Tilt games SUCK! Seriously - software sucks, games suck. But since I only have like $30 there I don't mind losing and never playing there again.

You can not win real money at Full Tilt. When the loosest game is like 25% with tiny pots - it's total crap. BUT, by doing this I'm getting used to the bigger size bets, the FEEL or larger poker.

Perhaps I'll do some dipping in 25NL at Bodog and their better games better software. I have rakeback at Tilt but even with rakeback there is less rake at The Dog.

So - I'm doing a little dipping lately.
